I am a graduate of this course having returned to education as a mature student. Since completion, I have gone on to become a fully accredited addiction counsellor with the ACI currently working with Tabor Group Treatment Services. I have recently completed a BSc (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy Degree and am working towards pre accreditation as a psychotherapist with the IACP. I also hold a H. Dip in Substance Misuse and Addiction Issues.
Having witnessed the importance of returning to education on my own personal and professional development, I place a high value on the provision of an academic environment where students are encouraged to explore the complexities of substance misuse and its impact on the community. I believe the Substance Use Issues for Youth & Community Work module provides such a platform and am excited to be a part of it going forward.
