From doing the Child development Module in the Cork College of Commerce I think it has really made me progress in my career choice, which is child care, as it’s not my first module in the College of Commerce. it’s so easy to progress in your career choice when it’s only one night a week and especially when the Tutors are so professional and always so helpful and patient with the students. I would recommend to anybody who is looking to progress in their career choice to attend the Cork College of Commerce.

The Cork College of Commerce night school provides a flexible approach to adult education. You can do as many or as few modules that suit your life. I would normally do two modules per semester but this year with the pandemic I felt that one module was all that I could commit to and that was no problem. The lecturers are professional and understanding of the current challenges, the work has to get done but they support you and encourage you.
I have completed Level 5 Early Childhood and I am currently doing the Level 6, I plan to continue to do the Level 7 by night starting September 2022 all with Cork College of Commerce
Having the opportunity to enroll in the evening courses was excellent for me as I work during the day, the lectures were very helpful, especially when we had to do the course through zoom, due to covid .This proved a great learning experience and also challenging but with the support and guidance from class mates and lectures we completed our modules, a valuable learning opportunity.
I am a Special Needs Assisting student in the Cork College Of Commerce. And Michelle Lynch is my tutor. I registered for this course in January 2021 mainly as I had time on my hands due to Covid and also an interest in learning more about the role of an SNA within mainstream schooling.
Due to Covid restrictions all our classes were conducted on line. This is difficult for 19 diverse students to connect and gel as they can do in the classroom environment.
However, with Michelle’s enthusiasm and genuine interest in education for children with special needs, within a couple of weeks the group became a very open forum for learning. There was a wealth of experience within the group as many of them were parents of children with special needs or were working within the special needs forum. With Michelle’s encouragement many people shared their own experiences with rearing or working with special needs children. This was such an interesting and active way to learn what was in the text books.
As a result of this course I will definitely look for experience working as an SNA and consider doing further courses.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in education.
