Marianne Wall is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland. She works with the HSE Addiction Services and the HSE National Counselling Service in Cork as well as providing some private therapeutic work. She has lectured on a variety of courses over the last few years in the area of substance misuse and counselling skills and is passionate about bringing awareness to the complexities related to working in a community setting with individuals that are impacted by substance misuse problems. She describes the Substance Misuse in Youth and Community Work module as an excellent module for students to explore substance misuse and the impact it has on the individual, families and the wider community and she hopes that this module will give people skills and knowledge to work with those that are impacted by substance misuse issues.
