Are you interested in sports and finding out more about what makes a team tick, well then this is the course for you. The aim of this course is to develop an understanding of the key psychological factors that influence participation in sport.
Within the course you will explore the relationship between sports psychology and sports performance and will acquire knowledge on how to deliver intervention strategies to improve sports performance. This exciting course also helps you understand the influence of great leaders and roles models in sport. The course will be of benefit to you if you are involved in sports coaching with athletes or teams and also if you work in the leisure industry.
Course Content:
- Role of sports psychologist in team and individual sports
- History and theories of sports psychology
- Attitude, self confidence, aggression and performance in sport
- The effect of stress and anxiety on performance
- Leadership in sport
- Importance of goal setting in improving performance
- Positive and negative influences of role models in sport
Course Delivery
This course is delivered through an Remote Teaching approach.
Course requirements for Online Learning
- Students must have basic IT Skills.
- Access to the use of a laptop/PC/tablet/smart phone
- Google Chrome is the recommended browser
- Good internet connection
