Being a care worker is such an important role and now more than ever we are seeing the importance of this front-line function. All our healthcare courses are recognised and approved by QQI and have been created by experts in the field. Health Service Skills is a major award made up of 8 modules and leads to a nationally recognised qualification. Our healthcare courses are perfect for those wishing to work in healthcare, in particular working in nursing homes, the hospital services as healthcare assistants, working as a carer, or for those interested in working with people with special needs. All of our lecturers are experienced professional nurses with several years of experience on the ward, in the classroom, who will support you on your journey and will apply their knowledge to ensure your training is grounded in real-world experience.
Entry Requirements:
Leaving Certificate or equivalent, or Mature students, or work experience in a relevant area in lieu of qualification together with a strong interest in the provision of quality care. This course requires students to have Current Cork ETB Garda Vetting clearance. Students must obtain their own work placement. Contact with a registered setting is required for modules of this course. Hepatitis B vaccination may be required before you go on work placement.
Manual and Patient Handling are not offered as part of this course.
